CVAS was established to provide services to addicts and their families in areas of Huddersfield where support is limited

We offer confidential peer-to-peer support through twice weekly informal drop-in sessions and a helpline. We also offer mentoring and recovery coaching through trained and qualified members, some of whom have direct experience of addiction themselves. We can also signpost to key services in the local area to ensure that you get the best possible support.

All services are provided free of charge.

Positive experiences

One of our patients knew that alcohol was a problem in his life and that of his family. He wanted to deal with it but wasn’t sure how to do this. At CVAS meetings he was able to talk with others in recovery and has now started his own journey.

Another patient has a relative with a serious gambling addiction. He’s not yet ready to tackle the issue but he has gained an insight into addiction issues as a result of the support received from CVAS and feels better equipped to help her family member.
